So a lot of my friends are complaining about being tagged in unwanted shoe pictures on Facebook’s social network. Some of them are guys, constantly being tagged in the self-proclaimed hottest and latest in Christian Louboutin Shoes. Some of my friends are females being tagged in pictures of the latest in Nike or Jordan sneakers. I was even tagged in a picture of sneakers that had a stiletto heel on them… go figure. Either way, we can all agree that these marketing tactics are not only annoying and unsolicited, but extremely lame. No one wants to be advertised to while they are trying to network and socialize with their friends, potential business partners, and family. It’s intrusive and it’s uncalled for, but business none the less.
I decided to do a little research on my own to determine the source of this shoe picture outbreak and find out if this a legitimate site to purchase and enjoy the hottest in fashion and style. I came across the Facebook page titled:
I found out that a person by the name of Melissa Fox (apparently a friend on Facebook) who is the owner and operator of Glass Geannie, Inc. is the culprit when it comes to being tagged in these pictures. I have not spoken nor been properly introduced to this young lady, although she appears to be a very nice person based off the info on her page. She is gorgeous also, if that is her real profile picture. Which makes me wonder why she would institute such a incredibly annoying marketing tactic as to tag people in these shoe pictures. I’m shocked and irritated, and I know I’m not alone. You all know that I don’t mind promoting people and their business, especially fashion. However, there is a protocol and it must be adhered to in order for your efforts to be recognized positively.
So as a one time courtesy, I’ll promote what I discovered from the site and tell you what you may find when you check it out.
I went to the website,
http://www.greatkickssite.info/ and www.fashionpair.com which when clicked both direct you to http://www.kicksbay.com/index.php a website full of the latest in hot sneakers, ladies shoes, athletic jerseys and electronics. The price points are definitely in the hundreds, so if the recession is still hurting your wallet then this site is not for you. If you are still singing “Racks on Racks on Racks” (LOL), then check it out. I’m not rich and don’t usually go crazy for labels, so I’m not rushing to go get my credit card anytime soon.
The styles are what really drove me to write up a post. Very fashionable and very unique, are the best words to describe the pumps and sandals I saw. Amazing detail and designs are available for women of all types. They even have the sneakers with stiletto heals that I mentioned before, is this a hood favorite or not? I haven’t been into sneakers since RPS handed me my high school diploma, so when I asked my male friends about the sneakers they all agreed they were hot but unfortunately of questionable authenticity. To me that means they may be fake, so unless I get confirmation I won’t make any speculations. I didn’t think so, but it doesn’t matter.
Take a look at the site and if you can afford it, buy something and tell me what you think about your experience. I always support those with the tenacity to maintain an online store and I hope that it continues to be successful. Unfortunately, their marketing tactics are not as supported and I sincerely hope someone can school them on how to network with a target demographic, introduce yourself to people before you infest their page with pictures of shoes, and promote your store in other outlets other than Facebook. As it stands even if the store is hot, it’s the way you reach the masses that creates new customers. Not FB tagging like made crazy shoe promotion monsters, just saying.
I look forward to seeing more developments and if you have any other comments or questions, please post them below.
